The Doctor Behind Thousands of Smiles

Dr. Josh Parker was born in Baton Rouge, and graduated from Central Private High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. While in dental school, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, C. Edmunds Kells Dental Honor Society, received several scholarships and awards for academic excellence, and graduated at the top of his class.

After dental school, Dr. Parker decided to further his education in the field of orthodontics to help change people’s lives by creating beautiful smiles! He completed his three-year orthodontic specialty residency and received a Master of Science degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Parker has been practicing orthodontics in Baton Rouge since 2014. Also, Dr. Parker volunteers his time at Children’s Hospital on the cranial facial team.

Orthodontics is more than just straightening teeth. It takes extensive knowledge of jaw growth development, facial symmetry and more to perfect a smile. There’s a reason orthodontists must go through additional years of schooling after receiving their dental degree.

Outside the office, Dr. Parker enjoys golfing, running, and cheering for the LSU Tigers with his wife, Dr. Erin Maturin. Most of his free time is spent with his children, Jolie and Jackson.
